Mealys Mealys

Profile

Mealy’s Auctioneers are an IAVI member firm based in Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny, Ireland. We are well known both nationally and internationally for the delivery of the highest standard of professional service in the valuation, and sale of personal property, particularly Fine Art, Rare Books, Period Furniture, Decorative Arts, Memorabilia and Collectibles. We also offer advisory services relating to the sale, disposal, or donation of the above. We conduct between eight and twelve major auctions per year - some at our salerooms in Castlecomer and others at selected locations in Dublin and other cities around Ireland. We have also conducted more sales on the premises of country house estates than any other Irish firm.

This third generation family business was established by the late Mr. George Mealy in 1934, whose name and legacy now lives on 75 years later. His two sons, Fonsie and George, are now co-owners and joint managing directors. They have seen the company grow rapidly under their management.

Country House and Estate clearance sales are traditionally their forte. Mealy's have hosted many of the the most prestigious auctions on the premises of Ireland's most wonderful country houses.
